For over 100 years, learning aptitudes have been measured and presented as a single number indicating the aptitude of an individual for their life. In the 1940s, J.P. Guilford , a US Psychologist founded the principle of “Multiple Intelligences”
J. P. Guilford’s research identified more than 120 different intelligences, or core cognitive abilities, that affect learning. His work with the US Army Air Force in World War II led to the increase in pilot survival in combat. In his research he found that there are core cognitive abilities necessary for a pilot to perform at an optimal level. His assessment was developed and was critical for pilot selection.
Guilford's Structure of Intellect (SI) was then applied to learning by his student & colleague, Dr. Mary Meeker. Gifted, general & remedial education, reading instruction, and career counseling all addressed by Dr. Meeker's Structure of Intellect (SOI). SOI is applicable to all of these learning areas through identification and then development. Other aptitude tests provide the identification only. SOI is different -- intelligence can be measured and developed.

Cognitive Learning Development Program Our Learning Development Program has proved to be successful in the learning center, home or school environments. In the learning center, we are able to prescribe a comprehensive program for you or your child to strengthen underdeveloped skills while working on balancing out the learning style. Our goal is to have your you or your child walk into any environment with any type of curriculum and be prepared to learn. With at least 3 hours of training per week, your child will work with highly-skilled and certified consultants in our "Cognitive" and "Lab" areas concentrating on their individualized program addressing any weaknesses identified in the Perceptual and Cognitive Assessments. Once a strong foundational is learning abilities is established the academic content gaps may be filled with tutoring in those subjects.
Academic Concepts & Content Each academic subject requires different cognitive and perceptual skills. Synap2it prepares the student with the appropriate skills necessary to work efficiently and effectively. We offer several Concept Prep programs in Reading, Math, Language and History. In addition to those, we bridge your child over to content instruction as in school or a work using the newly strengthened skills.
