Dealing with the causes, not the symptoms!
In the past, the traditional approach has been tutoring which only deals with symptoms and can cost a lot year after year.
Its commonly assumed that children enter school with the skills they need in place and are ready to take in the content and instruction by their teacher. Most students who fail do so because they lack specific intellectual abilities and/or perceptual skills. Synap2it determines not only which are missing but offers an individualized program to develop those abilities specific to your child. This is a proactive approach for learning struggles, not a lifetime of tutoring or “teaching around” learning deficits.
These cognitive abilities are very specific however may be related to different learning tasks. Thus, the cognitive abilities necessary for learning to read may overlap the same abilities necessary for learning mathematics depending on the situation. Synap2it using the SOI approach, prepares students for learning tasks by insuring that they have developed the necessary cognitive abilities. With a strong foundation of Sensory Integration, Perceptual and Cognitive Skills, a student is prepared for content from school and work. This is the time to tutor and fill the academic gaps.
